"Backbone"

$650.00

Acrylic on canvas | 16” x 20” |
This body tells a story before words ever could.
The raised arms, the exposed back, the tension held in every muscle this is the Black woman standing through it all. Carrying weight that was never meant to be hers alone. Bearing history, responsibility, survival, and love all at once.

Her spine is visible because it has always had to be strong.
Strong enough to hold families together. Strong enough to endure generations of labor, resilience, and resistance in a country built on her strength but slow to honor it.

The yellow background reflects power, presence, and visibility because Black women deserve to be seen. The denim grounds her in reality: working, surviving, showing up daily, no matter the cost.
